নারায়ণগঞ্জ বার্তা ২৪ (নগর প্রতিনিধি) : নারায়ণগঞ্জ সিটি কর্পোরেশন নির্বাচনে ১ মেয়রসহ মোট ১৬ জন তাদের প্রার্থীতা প্রত্যাহার করে নিয়েছেন। প্রত্যাহারকৃত প্রার্থী মেয়র পদে রয়েছেন জাতীয় সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল বাসদের মেয়র প্রার্থী মোসলেম উদ্দিন। এছাড়া কাউন্সিলর পদে ১৫ জন প্রার্থীতা প্রত্যাহার করে নিয়েছেন, তবে সংরক্ষিত কাউন্সিলর পদে কেউ প্রত্যাহার করেনি।
ফলে এবারের সিটি কর্পোরেশন নির্বাচনে মেয়র পদে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করছেন আওয়ামীলীগ ও বিএনপির প্রার্থীসহ মোট ৭ জন প্রার্থী। সংরক্ষিত কাউন্সিলর পদে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করছেন ৩৮ জন প্রার্থী এবং সাধারণ কাউন্সিলর পদে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করছেন ১৫৬ জন।
উল্লেখ্য, ৪ ডিসেম্বর রোববার পর্যন্ত মনোনয়নপত্র প্রত্যাহারের শেষ সময় ছিল। আগামীকাল ৫ ডিসেম্বর প্রর্থীদের প্রতিক বরাদ্দ দিবেন।
